It all began with a toy helicopter for Christmas for Wilber and Orville Wright. The boys played with it until it broke. Then they tried to make their own helicopter. Fascination soon took flight for the Wright Brothers. With that spark, nearly twenty years later, they started putting together the beginnings of successful air gliding.
The Wright Brothers began their observations by watching birds to see how their wings were used to make turns to the left and right during mid-flight. The conclusion was that it would make an incredible way for a flying machine or bicycle to turn. On December 17, 1903, the brothers took to the air twice each in their very first glider.
The Wright Brothers were known for their intellectual curiosity. Curiosity is something that breeds growth within our minds and brings us to a place where our thoughts and actions can truly rise to new heights. So what heights await you?
